Speedo bulb rev counter?

A strange one. After a new build with a conversion to 12v and a battery, I seem to have the speedo bulb acting like a poorly calibrated rev counter. It appears to be flashing in time with the revs, so when cruising is on permanently, as it can't flash quick enough above about 4000 revs. Has anyone e...

Re: 1/4 turn fasteners

Having just stopped cursing the all the little frikken meccano nuts, bolts and washers used when rebuilding bodywork, I really like the idea of Wellnuts.

I'm going to do a little experimenting. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: AF 5 Speed Fitting Question

Re: Front hub /fork problems

Think I've found the main problem: https://s18.postimg.org/ybrmqz7hl/Fork2.jpg Need to find some nice big bars to do some levering, hopefully won't have to paint them again. I get fed up with being taken for a ride by some suppliers. Life's hard enough without other people not doing their jobs prope...

Re: Front hub /fork problems

Bolt is right way round, though I don't think that would make any difference anyway.

I couldn't vouch for them being GP or Series 2, I'll try to definitivly identify them later today.

I have the correct 7mm nuts.

Thanks for the help so far.

Re: Front hub /fork problems

That's right, and on the right hand side in those photos there isn't enough space for one. While on the left side there is a gap of about 3 nuts width. That's the problem, if I force it in with a nut on either side (and it takes a fair amount of force to get in) then I will have to pack one side a l...

Front hub /fork problems

I've rebuilt a newly supplied set of forks and a new hub, but am having a problem with the fit of the hub in the links. It seems as if the drum brake stub on the fork link is too long, that means that there is a large gap between the inner axle nut and the link on that stub side, but no room on the ...
