Gear Selection

My Series 2 Li slips out of 2nd gear occasionally, when under acceleration. I'm thinking this is a cable adjustment thing.

Is there a guide to setting the cables up?

Sounds electrical check your earth's are clean and tight check your green red and white to the cdi are actually on the spades and clean disconnect green for loom at cdi and start the scoot as could be ignition related then it's your stator pick up height not correct Thanks, I'll check that. Li Series 2, SH1/2 carb, 12v electronic ignition. Starting from cold is no problem: 2nd or 3rd kick and it's good. Out for a ride, stop somewhere for tea and cakes, say half an hour, it starts fine. Thanks. So frame numbers give a rough idea of date of manufacture. Is there a way of telling withe the engine number?

Serial Numbers

Scooter Lounge gives serial numbers for all the various Lambrettas. It gives a prefix for the Frame and for the Engine, but only one number. Does this mean that a scooter leaving the factory would have the same number on both the frame and the engine? http://scooterlounge.com/lambretta/reference-lib...
