You are right. Longer shock does stretch the carb rubber and moves the air box rearward under the frame slightly.

Trouble removing air box cover

If yours has a fuel gauge, then it doesn't have a reserve, just "on and off " Hi. That's what I thought but the previous owner has confirmed that it does have reserve. To be honest it's been a while since I have been out on it but I am sure I have ran it with the tap in the on position 12 o...

Re: Trouble removing air box cover

Just dawned on me! Maybe I don't have enough fuel in the tank. Even though the fuel gauge reads a quarter of a tank. Is this right or could the tap be blocked for the "on" position? [emoji16]

Re: Trouble removing air box cover

Hi Folks, many thanks for the comments and observations. After a bit of time spent I ended up disconnecting the lower shock from the engine. This allowed the body/frame to drop which in turn moved the air box clear of the frame allowing the cover to be removed with no problem. It would appear that t...

Re: Trouble removing air box cover

If you remove the throttle screw, it looks like it should come off. Thanks. Does the throttle screw come out? Does it just unscrew. Might just give enough room. Yes, first screw it in as far as it'll go but make a note of precisely how many turns that is. Then just screw it right out. When you come...

Trouble removing air box cover

Looking sat that I'd say the rear shock is allowing the frame to sit too low. You can see where its been catching on that back corner when you're sat on it and the shock is compressed. There should be plenty of room to get the carb box cover off, they're a standard size regardless. In fact, looking...

Trouble removing air box cover

Hi folks, Quick question hopefully someone may be able to shed some light! I have been doing some maintenance and getting to know my scooter lately. One job I wanted to do was clean the air filter and carb etc. However this is where I have hit a bit of a problem! I can't get the air box cover off. T...
