Re: TV2 electrics

hi just starting to strip a TV2 for restoration. I'm intending keeping it as original as possible (bar a paint refresh) been looking at the electrics and I think I've found the taped off battery feed, but I'm confused by a single brown wire that comes out of the junction box/rectifier and goes to a...

Re: Still getting vibration on TS1 225

this is an interesting thread. I'm keen to know what the solution was too. I have just rebuild my engine with new 185cc engine and electronic ignition with medium weight flywheel. When I first started the engine it revved cleanly with no vibration at all. A few days later I strobed the timing and al...

Re: Mag flange all the same?

a picture or 2 would help explain the problem . Are your mag and engine cowls OEM ? Innocenti ... SIL.... Spanish or aftermarket jobbies ?
I had to do quite a bit of butchery to my S3 cowl to get it to fit right.

Re: electronic ignition... no spark

^ ... that photo is very similar to a number that I've come across, with one just coming to me to sort out a misfire. The pickup and LT coil actually both read ok but both low figures, as is typical of the Indian aftermarket items, so I took the opportunity to swap both items out and rectify the an...

Re: electronic ignition... no spark

P One thing that I've come across a number of times recently is the splaying of laminates on aftermarket stator bases, where the laminates splay and cause the face of the pickup to angle away from the flywheel face, with the top trigger moving quite a distance back from the flywheel. Its a shame as...

Re: Pickup /flywheel alignment madness

great 17 is is then, Thanks for your advice guys and the image is very helpful too. If I spin my flywheel with a drill and socket adaptor I should be able to time the ignition without the need to start and run the engine. I read on MB about a neat mod using a tank strap trunnion to make an adjustab...

Re: electronic ignition... no spark

thank you Steve. It certainly has been a long trial. I'm sure that if you buy a complete electronic kit from one supplier that all the components would work well with each other but I could only afford to buy cheap single parts from various suppliers and had some problems, Who would have thought tha...

Re: electronic ignition... no spark

I'm glad you (seem) to have resolved the issue. But those magnets are usually fixed with epoxy glue and a screw, for very good reason. Plus you have now moved them closer to all the coils, running a risk of fouling. You could have just gently bent the fingers up, they will take a gentle tweak. I wo...

Re: electronic ignition... no spark

I'm sure that anyone following this saga will be pleased (or maybe relieved ?) to hear that tonight I got my scoot running after probably 6 months of problems with drive side oil seal leaks, cylinder leaks , carburetor issues and constant no spark problems. Thank you all who offered help and a...
