Carbon buildup 1980 P200e

My 1980 Vespa P200e has almost 26,000 miles now, up from about 20,000 when I bought it a few years ago. Read somewhere about carbon buildup in two cycle systems - even including a muffler carbon burnout. So I’ve been wondering how concerned I should be about possible carbon buikdup in this Vespa. Sw...

Seat on P200e - the long one

At the front of the long seat on my P200e there is a hinge. There is a plate on that hinge which has a large air hole and three bolt holes. What do those three bolts fasten to? Loose nuts which could drop down toward the carburetor if the bolts are carelessly removed? Or threaded areas made part of ...

Re: P200e shifting mechanism

Had to pay a professional two-wheel mechanic. He got the old outers/inners out and replaced. Said heat from the exhaust had fused outers and inners into one big lump.

P200e shifting mechanism

Been having trouble shifting my P200e. While pestering it one of the cable ends came off at the handle bar. Decided to replace both inner cables. No go. Neither could be pulled out. Then tried to replace the set. The outer cable housings wouldn’t budge either. So... How do I remove these housings wi...

Vespa wheel sizes - two cycle scooters

What wheel sizes did Vespa offer during the two cycle era? I know of 8” and 10”. Was there a 12”?

Thanks

How is the classic kick starter geared I wondered

Searched internet and studied parts offered on eBay and by dealers. Never could wrap my mind around it. Then studied the back of a T-shirt I have... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191002/04825ebee88570af55125817f9ef1d5b.jpg There it is! The wheel is warped because the surface under the shirt is ...

Kick starting Classic Vespa

When I have needed to kick start a Vespa, even when much younger, I have always had to put the machine on the center stand. I have never been able to start one this way. Has anyone?

Re: PX Rear Indicators

I had varying problems with the rear indicators on my 1980 P200e. Ground problems. Finally cured the problems by cleaning the finger pulled spring things which hold the fronts of the fenders/bubbles in place. Had to clean the screws which grounded the lights to the fenders first.
