Re: Scootrs External Disc Brake - Wheel not Central
I have received an email from Scootrs regarding the dimensions of the hub. I described my problem to them and asked for confirmation that 136mm is the correct dimension for their hub. This is their reply:- "Yes, you have the correct measurements. I'm told it is normal to have a tight fit on the...

Re: Scootrs External Disc Brake - Wheel not Central
So I have measured the distance between my fork links and it is coming up as 132mm. The new Scootrs disc brake hub measures 136mm across the spindle. I notice from another post on this forum that Frank Sanderson reckons this is the smallest distance you can expect from standard Italian forks and lin...

Re: Scootrs External Disc Brake - Wheel not Central
Yes I think you are right. If the speedo housing moves then the caliper and disk have to move as well. That'd mean machining back the hub to move the entire housing/caliper/disc assembly inboard! Link spacing can vary from scooter to scooter. It seems to me that RS have only provided scope to shim t...

Re: Scootrs External Disc Brake - Wheel not Central
Thanks for the advice. I'd be happy to even get back half of the difference. I'll measure the link distance tonight. I haven't taken an RS hub apart before, presumably not a big job?

Scootrs External Disc Brake - Wheel not Central
I have recently purchased a new Scootrs anti-dive external disc brake unit. Last night I tried to fit the hub and it would not fit within the distance between my fork links. I replaced the thick nut on the axle with a slightly thinner nut and the hub just about fits. BUT the wheel is now offset from...

Thanks Eden. That just might be the lead I'm looking for.

What Lambretta front disc brake would you recommend?
I'm in the market for a hydraulic front disc brake for a GP200. My budget is up to £300 (including switch housing assembly) and I would prefer to order from a UK-based supplier. What would you recommend?

Good Experiences with Dealers/Tuners?
I posted this a couple of weeks ago on the Lambretta Street Racer Facebook page, but thought I'd share it with a wider audience. So often we hear about dealers and tuners that give poor service to their customers, well I would like to do the opposite give some praise for outstanding service. I would...
