Re: Won’t cold start/choke.

a leak test is to check that the crankcase, cylinder, head and manifolds dont have any air leaks. an air leak will give running problems which if not fixed will lead to overheating and detonation, melting the piston or heat siezing. i use a blood pressure guage and hand pump and an adapter to fit in...

Re: Which Electronic Ignition Kit

i am about to fit one of the new vape systems which looks very good, but i was a bit annoyed that the box with all the parts in has everything, except a flywheel holding tool, surely it should come with the kit. pick height and alignment is normally a problem with lambretta electronic ignitions of t...

Re: Won’t cold start/choke.

the original backfire could have blown a gasket on the inlet manifold or the base of the cylinder, ive just had this happen to me, a leak down test would be a good plan before you start messing about with jets as trying to re jet around an air leak.

Re: LI125 With Scootopia 185cc kit

did you re torque the head after 100 miles or so, could easy be a leaky head gasket, of blown gasket, a leak test is the best way to check.

Re: RB20 Repair Options?

ive seen damaged spigots used in the past with no issues, just as long as there are no sharp edges, so you could cut away the damaged part, i believe a shorter spigot will cool the piston more, you will not have as much support for the piston if you remove the full spigot, i would mark the inside of...

Re: lambretta rt 195 jetting

thanks for the input folks, fitted the x7 needle and a 128 main and its got some colour on the plug, i have told him that a dyno set up is his best bet, i did forget to say in original post that it had windows in the piston and the skirt has a crescent cut in it , and a boost port as well.
