Re: lambretta 290 rotax

whats the rubber cap with the spring clip steve is that for coolant its the rave valve garry, works off exhaust pressure which lifts the valve up and down to alter the exhaust port timing, gives more torque at low revs and more power at high revs, a bit like a turbo on a car, first test ride was Sa...

Re: LT coils

because it needs a lot of windings to get the high voltage needed,a weak link in the lambretta electronic ignition system, im not using mine on my rotax conversion, I have a tambs external pickup and cdi unit running off the lighting coils, easy to fit and reliable up to now, also easy to change as ...

Re: TS1, Avanti ex box, VHSH30, kytronik curve c, boyesen reeds,

you said it had a touring tune, which will give more torque and not always more maximum bhp, which looking at your printout is very good, but it maybe that the port timings are more suited to a higher revving set up, are you using a standard reedblock and manifold, ive just fitted a bgm reed and stu...

Re: TS1, Avanti ex box, VHSH30, kytronik curve c, boyesen reeds,

does seem a little low on max bhp although torque looks good, I think this may be down to the pipe, I suspect an expansion exhaust would release a lot more power, as to figures mine did 34 bhp on martins dyno then a few months later 35 on darrells dyno so its pretty accurate.

Re: lambretta 290 rotax

fitted my rave cylinder to my scooter at the weekend, had to alter a bit of plumbing, got a bit more to do before I fit some stronger clutch springs https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7861/46250163034_2073e2f820_k.jpg Untitled by stephen holt , on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7871/32033387227_9...

Re: lambretta 290 rotax

fuel tap just has a penny washer riveted into the slot so panel has to come off to turn it on and off, I just leave it on as a rule, not been a problem upto now, I have no route to get to the fuel rod, I fitted an electric valve on mine to overcome this. Works fine unless your battery's flat ! what...

Re: lambretta 290 rotax

I have made a start on upgrading my rotax to a powervalve model, ive removed the jetski barrel and pleased to see the piston in very good condition and the crank as well, carb size is being increased to 38mm the same size as the skidoo that the barrel came off. I have removed the inlet manifold and ...

Re: Mag flange

in a word no, it would improve performance if it matched, but I think you have a problem elsewhere, did you do a leakdown test before stripping it, and a check of the timing, plus plug chop ?
