Re: Mot rules on lights

It may not help you totally but mine passed with no advisories and my rear is permanently on, the front works on/off, main & dip but I have no front side/parking light (festoon). I also have two small lights fitted by the PO to the rear carrier which aren't wired. They didn't mention those at al...

The first breakdown: How to thread inner gear change cables?

Gear change cables. Got to love em - Any tips on the best way to feed a new inner through the outer? It's a bit snug in there. I was thinking bathtub of lubrication and taping the tail end of the new to the head of the old (having clipped off the top) and pulling it through whilst my glamorous assis...

Re: Adventures of a Scooter Newbie Pt2: Clothing and Fuel

All I do is local. Too long a car driver for anything else at the mo! The Corazzo jacket (the tan coloured Harrington style) I got has Knox armour in the shoulders, back & elbows and was my original choice but I couldn't find any at first, hence the Tucano. The Corazzo feels much better is heavi...

Re: Adventures of a Scooter Newbie Pt2: Clothing and Fuel

Thanks again for all the tips. I am loving how basic things are... I realise I may not be saying that in the dead of winter when I cannot work out how to put things back together or "why IS there no spark?" but for the moment, this is a breath of fresh (slightly cloudy 2-stoke) air!

Adventures of a Scooter Newbie Pt2: Clothing and Fuel

My continued fun and games as a scooter newbie (see previous; http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=34890 ) gather apace with a couple of key things. The fuel tap; just how easy is it to flood an engine? ! and Gear; as in clobber, not the grip-shifts (I think I am there with the latt...

Adventures of a Scooter Newbie - Luci (the Li150) and me Pt1

It's registered as a 125 and has a 125 top end on. I've spoken with both DVLA & my insurance co about it and their surprising response was both; "It doesn't matter what's on the badges, or the frame/engine # what does it say on the V5?" I have a set of 125 badges but can't bring myself...

Anyone know this one and is it too good to be true?

You're welcome Andy. 1966 was clearly a good year for Andys ;)

Adventures of a Scooter Newbie - Luci (the Li150) and me Pt1

Thanks Chris & Timbo. My toolkit has been amended to include everything in the handbook and then some. I'm used to a defensive driving nature having had old VWs but yep this is something else! I'm really enjoying it all so far, the engine feels underpowered and I have a little vibration but all ...
