Re: New project.
Agree with you there, these GT cranks really are a work of art, great finish.
I put a dial gauge on mine after fitting and took some rough readings. It read 0.01mm (0.0004") runout at the tip of the flywheel taper and 0.005mm (0.0002") on the drive side.

Re: New project.
Sounds similar to my experience, I had frozen the GT crank for days and the inner race took more effort to get on than I expected. Nothing wrong, just a good tight fit, held the fly side Web in a wooden workmate.

AF Cassette Clutch Question
Hello, If I'm fitting an AF Cassette clutch (road one, fitting to a series 2 Li150 tree) do I need to purchase the brass bush or does it come with it already fitted? Also, from the pictures it looks like it is supplied with a nut & washer, but is a tab wash also required? Looking to put a parts ...

Re: Scoots Rs??
There was a FB page called 'ScootRS victims' that was set up to bring some of the non-deliveries & service issues out in the open. It's since been taken down so not as to harm ScootRS as a business. On the page the guy who left who's mentioned above made an appearance and gave his side of the st...

Re: GT240 Build
Well, they're in now! Let's see if they live up promise of being tolerant to modern fuels and all that.
Just tried to fit the kickstart shaft from my series 2 to the GP chaincase and it doesn't fit, I take it they're slightly different in diameter? Something else for the parts list then...

Re: GT240 Build
The crank and seals were lubricated. When I fitted the crank to the drive-side it had come out of the freezer and the oil went a bit syrup-like when it cooled which surely didn't help things much and on reflection I didn't rotate the crank often enough. The mag-side was a different matter though. I ...

Re: GT240 Build
A bit more progress has been made, some good, some not so. Towards the end of last week I fitted the crank bearing and seals and then fitted the crank. I'm using viton seals that came in the Taylor Tuning rebuild kit (great value and to my mind you get parts that he has vetted in circumstances that ...

Re: GT240 Build
Eden, yes mag is done as well.
Rosscla, thanks for the tip. I see on the fitting instructions it says the larger pivot is to be used for the GP cam.
