Re: Painting rear hub

I see no reason for heat resistant paint either, but I hate powder coat. It just looks wrong to me.

You can buy rattle cans and do it yourself. Unless you're s**t at painting and it will look worse than powder coat. :-)

Re: variatronic ignition fitted to a casa 225 timing instructions

24 at 2000 rpm will be about 16 degrees by about 7000 rpm.

Difficult to strobe due to the double spark. Most strobes only work up to about 8000rpm so at about 4000 rpm, they go haywire on a varitronic.

Hard to say without seeing it, but personally, I think I'd be ok with just leaving it.

Re: Stainless or plated fixings?

Main problem is stainless bolts with stainless nuts. Usually ok into aluminium or carbon steel.

I must say I've never had any problems with stainless fasteners apart from big m16 etc with high torque that we use at work. Even then, anti galling paste stops that.

Re: Clubman on GT186 - Ex Box?

Apparently, and I only heard this as say-so, there is an additional baffle in the v4.

Could be total b@11@x though.

Re: Cheap 5/6 plate clutch

Yes, I understand that I can put 17bhp through a 4 plate easily but I'm trying to make a very light clutch, very reliable for low money.

If those spiders fit under a standard side case without packers, I can do this.

Just wondered if anyone had tried one.

Reed speed does 5plate that fits in original basket for about £35 and a very good and Martin at justlambretta does a lovely 5plate Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk Thanks Garry, I've used a few 5 plate clutches like that using thinner steels but they have a tendency to warp. If I use the deeper...

Cheap 5/6 plate clutch

I'm going to build a simple low power motor and want a 6 plate clutch so that I can use very light springs. The plan was to use a stratos spider but there are lots of early failures so that's out the question. MB look good but are very expensive. There are cheap Indian ones for under £20 which are b...
