Re: Oil/ petrol Mix

If you have 5 litres of petrol and add 2% oil mix then you have your 2% fuel oil mixture.
Adding more oil (say to 4%) to 5 litres of petrol surely does not make the mixture weaker, you still have 5 litres of petrol plus additional oil?

Re: Which carb for TS1?

Hi. My TS1 225 was set up and dynoed with a 30 mm VHSH carb and we saw 22.9 bhp on test. Will pull in top gear from 20 mph and go on to 80 mph (on the road not dyno mph) so I'm happy. Also will return about 45+ mpg or more if I can drive gently! Dyno operator said 35 mm carb would be thirstiest but ...

Re: Anti dive.

I have the ScootRS front external disc brake and I added the anti dive after using the scooter without it. This dic brake is powerful and I use only one or two fingers to operate the front brake. In use this powerful brake can make the front end dive quite a lot - adding the (adjustable) anti dive a...

Re: Scootrs External Disc Brake - Wheel not Central

Think this topic is well known. I had a similar issue but about 4mm off centre. I accepted this feature and yes, it is off centre but it is a good powerful disc brake. I don't find any problems riding straight, hands off the bars if need be! Still rides straight. Not noticed any uneven tyre wear but...

Re: WHO ARE THE BIG COLLECTORS

I have a 1964 Li Special with TS1 225 etc.
My next bike will be a KTM Duke 690cc, only £5K for a 2,000 miles 2013 example and it will be such fun to ride!!!
68 BHP too, runs on unleaded petrol, can live with Ethanol etc.

Cheaper than it has cost to restore my scooter !!

Re: Hydraulic clutch to hard

A friend of mine has just bought a Ducati Hyperstrada 821 cc with 110 bhp and it has the sweetest and lightest clutch I've ever used, and it's cable operated!

Re: Thoughts on carbonisation problems?

My first thought was that 4% mixture might be too much after running in. I know that AF Rayspeed recommend 4% but I run my TS1. 225 on 3% fully synthetic Rock Oil with no problems. It runs very well IMO and pulls from 25 mph in top gear of need be, after start up she runs with no discernible smoking...

Re: fitting a fuel pump to stock fitting carb

Check the carb needle valve is ok, if necessary, fit a larger one to give faster fuel filling to the float chamber. May be a Good idea to open up the diameter of the fuel supply to the float chamber, like MB does on his carb upgrades. I think a fuel pump is overkill, sort the basics and you should b...

Re: REMADE ORIGINAL DISCBRAKES : ITALIAN OR SCOOTRS TYPE ?

I tried a new SCOOTRS front disc, very disappointed with the performance, brake lever almost touching the throttle and braking very poor. Check and adjusted the fixed pad and moving pad several times, no better. Changed the pads for Sintered type, no better. Changed the moving arm assy f...

Re: FITTING BATTERY TO TOOL BOX, SERIES 3

Of course!
I have a TS1 but there is room for a shallow gel type alarm battery.
Why didn't I think of that, thanks for the tip!
