RB225 better cooling?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me how to better cool my RB? I have a close fit head cowl and large fin flywheel with gaps sealed between fan cowl and head cowl. I'm just looking for something a bit better so if anyone could answer the following through experience that would be great.... 1. Does removing th...

Best dampers/shocker for GP200

Hi all,
Can anyone recomend the best dampers and shocker set up for my GP200 that is not too expensive, best bang per buck type thing?
It would be nice to get some decent handeling at 55mph plus.
I'm 14 1/2 stone and have a single seat so only ever ride one up.
Thanks and regards,
Eric.

Re: 30mm Delorto carb idle mix screw?? (and jets)

Thanks for the help chaps. :) I'm an ex mechanic (used to restore classic cars for a job) and I used to be pretty carb savy in my first time round scooter days (early 80s) but most of what I used to know has been pushed out the brain to make way for more useless stuff! lol. AF were suprised at the 1...

Re: 30mm Delorto carb idle mix screw?? (and jets)

Sorry I made a mistake the carb is a standard PHBH. I got it new from AF Rayspeed and they jetted it for my set up before sending it. Acording to the sheet they sent with it it has a AV266 needle jet, X7 needle (2nd from top), 55 pilot, and it came with a 128 main jet (too weak). I dont know what th...

30mm Delorto carb idle mix screw?? (and jets)

Hi all, I just fitted a 300mm (PHPB) delorto to my GP200, the basic instructions I got about the idle mix screw for my set up (see below) were 2.5 to 3.5 turns out, that seems a lot to me and at idle on onlt 2.5 its really rich and really smokey up to about a 1/4 throttle! Has anyone got a similar s...

Re: How do you check for big end wear?

Thanks for that guys. :)
Cant find any up/down play so just ordered a new piston/rings and I'll see what it sounds like when running, if no tapping all is well.
I've got my fingers crossed.
Best regards,
Eric.

How do you check for big end wear?

Hi all, I've got the barrel off my SIL GP200 to fit new rings and a new little end while I'm at it, but would like to know the proper way to check for wear on the big end and what the wear limits are. I presume I use a feeler gauge for this but got no specs to use. The con rod does move freely from ...

Re: What jet sizes for standard SIL GP200??

Thanks for that Paul. How similar is it? I've been running a 130 main and 50 pilot, tried a 132 main and it was far too rich. I've tried a 128 and it did perform better from about half throttle to WOT but after all the engines I wrecked in my younger days (early 80s) I'm paranoid about siezin...

What jet sizes for standard SIL GP200??

Hi all, I’m running a standard SIL GP200 with standard Jetex 22mm carb/filter (but airbox drilled), AF Clubman exhaust, factory ‘stage 4 tuned’ barrel (is it really?) and I’ve matched the barrel to inlet manifold, and exhaust manifold and barrel matched to the copper gasket. I use Rockoil at 4% and ...

Re: GP200 head skimming?

Thanks for the offer John but I dont want to take the scoot off the road yet as I'm having fun and its summer (almost).
Why did you need the piston?
