Re: Drive side oil seal failure symptoms
Took it apart on Saturday and it was the eye of one of the gudgeon pin circlips that has broken off, travelled around the barrel and finally wedged itself into the piston just above the top ring jamming the rings. The rest of the circlip is still in position. The barrel (cast iron) only has light da...

Re: Drive side oil seal failure symptoms
Describing the noise.......... Imagine the noise the engine makes when cruising not thrashing the knackers off, well all of a sudden the tone dropped and sounded rough. When pulling away it was like trying to pull away in 3rd or 4th. I was not far from home so I crawled home...

New pipe for TS1, opinions?
Hi, I am looking to replace my old and very used Taffy mark IV pipe on a TS1 225 running an SX200 gearbox with standard sprockets, 4.8 final drive ratio. I am looking at the chrome PM30 Fat Mamba or the stainless Devtour. I like the idea of the stainless pipe as it sounds like it will last and not g...

Re: Reverse cone with VW silencer
If you get the ones with the clamp in tailpipe . you just need another tailpipe for the mot take out the inner crimp it in a vice to reduce the size a bit more packing then replace into outer a couple of pinches round the bottom to hold it all together and refit , only use it for the mot or your mo...
