Re: Vespa Douglas 42l2

Hi
Just checked the carb and that's ok,but noticed the raised edge on the handle grips is rubbing against the light switch so I'll try moving it or fit new ones without the big raised edge.

Re: 42L2 T5 Conversion; Carb problem

I left the shock undone to show you all the travel I had on the suspension. I'm currently running a 30mm spacer nut so could increase this but it will sit like a dragster unless anybody knows how I can raise the front? Regarding the filter again I will get something made up to attach a filter too. D...

Re: 42L2 T5 Conversion; Carb problem

Hi all :-) Thanks for all your replies. I've cut the base plate of the air filter (see photo) which has allowed a reasonable amount of travel on the suspension. I was just thinking of fitting a gauze filter in between this and the carb? Or I'll fabricate some sort of elbow to attach a filter. Any th...

Re: 42L2 T5 conversion

Hi all The black bkt did this. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o263/Arnie42L2/image_zpsa7759287.jpg So Sip advised me to buy the silver bkt but this did not fit at all. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o263/Arnie42L2/image_zps50a39229.jpg So my plan is now for them to return the black bkt to me...

Re: 42L2 T5 conversion

Hi all !

Just received the silver bkt from sip and its no good as the engine now doesn't fit at all, just wandering if anybody knows of someone who would be able to mount the engine as sip will not be able to help any further as I've already swapped the bkt once.

I'm in surrey cheers Andrew

Re: 42L2 T5 conversion

Hi all, I managed to fit the engine using the black SIP bracket but wasn't happy with its alignment with the shock absorber or wheel. I've since spoken to SIP and they've now advised that I use the silver bracket instead! As the silver bracket offset is almost central compared to the black one, I wo...
