Re: 172 Idle jet

Sounds like the idle jet is to large, thats why the air screw is out so far, but you say its the original idle jet.

Internal rear hub oil seal fittment

I am building a new 220 polini engine to replace my ageing 210 malossi, Every thing is brand new and I have built it all up but I am having a problem remembering what way the internal rear hub oil seal fits in. Is it with the spring facing towards the hub or towards the gearbox. My old engine has th...

Re: 210 Malossi Worb 5 gearing

I would pop in a T5 fourth gear if I were you. I ran a similer set with a 34mm amal and taffy reed valve and it ran fine. I have since replaced it with a 28mm Keihen PWK to get more MPG and have lost a some power at high revs but low down power has improved a lot.

Re: idle adjuster all the way in, but wont idle

You would need a larger idle jet, by swapping your air box and I should imagine stock air filter inside the air box for a ram air filter you are getting more air to the carb. More air needs more fuel. And if you open the throttle fast you should notice a slight hesitation before it revs thats a sign...

Re: Whats this for

The disappointing part is that its a genuine Keihin carb and It comes with zero instructions, I have had Koso PWK copy carbs that came with instructions.
I found this guide on fitting a Keihin to a trials bike useful http://www.splatshop.co.uk/how-to-modif ... -bike.html

Re: loads of white smoke

Are you using locktite on the clutch side oil seal? I never after rebuilding my 210 Malossi and had the same problem plus gear box oil leaking in to the crank. Put another seal in there using locktite and its fine.
