Re: Best value upgrade for SIL 200 engine
I say 70+ its all done at just over 72MPH on a sat nav. I bit more top end would be nice but it's not a priority, it's on standard GP gearing, I have tried longer gearing but it want as ride able. I like the look of the MB tuned cast iron cylinders, if I can stretch that far I may get a new one but ...

Re: Best value upgrade for SIL 200 engine
Do you think you have the carb spec pretty spot on? This year I changed out a 30mm solid mount for a 28 rubber mount as well as fitting the TSR EVO. It has taken a while to get things running cleanly, much swearing at leaky exhaust manifolds and the epiphany of discovering a really weird atomizer i...

Best value upgrade for SIL 200 engine
I've been running a SIL 200 engine for a number of years now in my bastardized API 150. I replaced the crank and bearings a year or so ago with uprated parts when the bottom end finally melted. I've run a number of carb and exhaust setups but it's currently on an open mouth PHBH 28 and a TSR Evo. I'...

Re: Help required- Electronic Ignition
I agree that CDIs normally just die but coild can be intermittent and on the one you are using the coil is integral. I was running one of the lucus coils with a separate CDI but rewired it all in the last rebuild to one of the more common one box units. I used a cheap £10 Ebay special for ages until...

Re: Help required- Electronic Ignition
I'm guessing you have the all in one CDI and ignition coil, if so can you borrow a spare to try many people carry one on the scoot just in case. The Ducati ones can be as much as £3o but the cheap copies are less than a tenner, they come with an HT lead. personally I'd get a cheap one and if it turn...

Re: Indian series 2 rear light
Sorry just been lout and had a rummage, I've got an original API plastic housing and shallow lense and another Series 2 polished cheap copy with a lense but no rubber gasket for either or you'd be welcome to it.
I have forsaken a traditional rear light for something a little more outlandish

Re: Series 2 exhaust
I was checking out a few reviews earlier and MB stuff is usually good, he's been working on that pipe for a good while. I've run a few expansion chambers on it over the years, I like something a bit on the loud side but I want the full footboards these days. I've modified the NK I'm running to run a...

Re: Series 2 exhaust
I did try a Clubman but found it well down on power, it wouldn't pull through top gear. It may have needed further down jetting but I'm looking for something with a bit more performance. I note MB are doing a high performance Clubman style exhaust, but I don't know anyone running one as yet. I'm int...
