Flooding jetex carb at idle and low revs, solved!

I have been suffering from the "flooding carg syndrom" since 2010, finally solved it today. It was the choke plunger (badly machined). Symptoms: Engine ok at full gas, but flooding, dying and stalling at idle. Fuel consumption between horrendous and catastrophic. Carb was new as well as th...

Re: How to change rear hub bearing in 45 min. No dismantling

If you had the workshop I have I'm pretty sure you would do it the same way. Only fit for 1 lammy, but there are 4 of them, stuck one next to the other, and one big heavy land Rover discovery filling the rest of the space (the giant lambretta). To do just the most stupid thing you have to kneel on t...

Re: How to change rear hub bearing in 45 min. No dismantling

No, don't worry, this was left by the previous owner, as well as very nice crack besides one of the retaining plate studs, so the stud was pulled whenever the nut was tightened. I commissioned the stud hole to be welded, refilled, re tapped and screwed again. The small missing bit besides the bearin...

Re: How to change rear hub bearing in 45 min. No dismantling

innovative, but i do like to shim the gearbox after fitting the rear hub, sometimes the layshaft can be pulled through more as the hub nut is tightened. did you change the layshaft o ring...? Hi there, I checked the end float and there was no in-out movement and the layshaft was very smooth, so I a...

How to change rear hub bearing in 45 min. No dismantling.

Yes! it can be done After doing the engine rebuild and fitting a substandard indian bearing (unknown name) which had been fitted in a MecEur bag (I suppose by the person who sold me the "project in bits") and blowing 2 seals in no time, I just did not want to undo all the engine and gearbo...

Re: JBL hub bearings anyone?

Thank you so much for your replies. I suppose the JBL is the one currently fitted as OEM in bog standard SIL engines (and mine have been on for 14 years and 3000 miles), but I will be fitting the serveta instead, just being over-cautious, and will leave the JBL as a spare for my Lynx when the casa o...

JBL hub bearings anyone?

Hi there, When I rebuilt my IKEA S2 winter Li 150 (bought it in boxes with no instructions...) it came wit a nice mecEur box which contained an indian bearing of unknown origin. It had almost no play so I fitted it. After 300 miles and 2 seals I am brake-less again. Seals fails by the inner lip so I...

Re: lince 200

Thank you for the input mate! They will be very easy to locate then. When mine die (soon due to rust) i'll go for the standard ones, just for the looks. Would be nice to find some original spanish mini ones, to see if the manufacturer (FULDA, who at least built the ones fitted in my Lammy) also did ...

Re: lince 200

Very nice scoot Panamesc! Don't worry about the switch. The "electric start" is instead the horn switch. It's the spagghetti nightmare. Nice shocks you have. You say they are mini ones. I guess they are from the old generation Mini (the real one). Have you got the part number I can help wi...

Re: LAMBRETTA PROTOTYPE RX300E DISCOVERED

It's not a 300cc for sure. I even doubt the RX300 sticker was Lambretta sourced The engine (or what remains of it) will definitely be a 200cc unit. Anyway, talking with many ex-lambretta workers at the Eibar meeting I was told it was not a prototype but a bodge. But the metalwork is too good to be a...
