Aprillia did testing with their gp bikes a few years ago, playing around with bigger radiators etc. they found the cooler things ran the more horsepower it made.

They ended up with radiators so big it ran at 50'C at full race temp

That was on simoncelli's championship winning bike

Hi guys, I thought I'd share a few pics of my series 1 rebuild My rear hub failed on last years Mille Miglia... Hi rich, I haven't been on for a while so I've missed a few developments... Are you saying this won't work with a varitronic? I'm keen to put one in my series 1 which has a 61mm crank with 115 rod. Are there no low crown pistons at all?

another option is the pinasco 177 reed barrels any body have any success on a piston ported large frame???? I have one of theses kits along with a vs5 engine with dreams of doing the mila mile what ever you call the italian time trial so just wondering what ignitions is available for vs5 conversion...

Well it's pretty much finished... The bgm flywheel won't work with a vari stator

Where abouts are you? You could send it to Cambridge lambretta for modification

Wouldn't it be easier to check the bgm stator first????


Get a multimeter and set it on resistance scale. Check resistance across red and white- should be about 100-110
Then check green and white - should be about 500 ohm

If you get these readings then tge problem is elsewhere

Not sure how the battery wiring loom works but I just converted my non battery SS stator to 12v. I think the spark power coil on a standard stator is shared with the lighting coils.
