Re: extra long cylinder studs

The best studs I used were from a Suzuki TS185. I doubt if you could still get them, but they were long and very strong.

Re: Crashbar holes

I have welded them up before. What is your objection to welding?

I am no painter, but I seem to recall that fibreglass panels need etch primer. Halfords do a very good etch primer in a metallic red can.

Re: Stand problem

Stand problems are often an indication of problems with the frame cross member, rather than the stand or spring. There can be all sorts of issues with cross members breaking away from the frame tube, or stand-hook retaining hook bolts pulling through the cross member. It often need welding. When the...

Re: Bgm stator

I would swap a four week wait for Anthony for a four hour wait at the side of the road.

Re: SS240

I follow David on FB, and he occasionally posts about properties that he is building or renovating, but nothing about scooters. I know that he stopped and re-assessed what was important in life, but I don't think there was a conscious decision to stop scootering. As Adam suggests, perhaps he will fi...

Re: inboard hydraulic brake

^ what Hendy says, but use clear pipe so you can see how much fluid is in it. I don't think I have had to top up my reservoir since 2009.

Sprinting at Woodbridge, June 24 2017

Is the sprint meeting at RAF Woodbridge for 24/25 June still on?

What time does the sprinting start on both days?

Re: Long Range Tank

I've got to agree with Timbo. I used a similar tank to the one he describes on the way to Italy, but found that whilst I had an 11 litre tank, I only had a 6 litre arse.

Re: Use, replace, or reline these brake shoes

Very useable. Rough up the surface and put them back, BUT they will probably contain asbestos so be very careful and remove any dust immediately from the work bench and tools, without making anything airborne. Definitely no power tools.

Re: P200e front brake drum questions

I wonder if the three blind holes are there as part of the casting process, perhaps to hold the cast iron liner in place while the ali is poured into the mould. The Philips head might well be for a vision hole for the shoes, but it was not full adopted and therefore these is no hole on the inside of...
