Re: Harry Barlow Stage 4

The packer is used with a standard stroke to raise the port timings If I'm not mistaken he does a long stroke (60 mm) version as well. Does anyone know what's involved there regarding packers or recessed heads etc. SF The packer and recessed head are only for the standard 57mm stroke crank from wha...

Re: Rally 200 24 Dell FLOODING

I had this occur on a 24 Si carb when the fuel tap was switched off and the tank was full...it turned out to be fuel by passes the off position on a sip fast flow fuel tap when the fuel level is above the breather pipe...I resolved it replacing the tap with one that doesn't have a breather from chis...

Re: HB Stage 4 vs 207

My HB stage4 207 was able to get up to the 80mph mark on the Speedo (I realise that's not a true 80mph I'm just trying to give an idea of how mine performed) which I was quite cuffed with as I weighed 22clem at the time

Re: Stroking a Harry Barlow stage 4 top end

Thanks for the offer jack...I spoke to HB again n he said that raising the stage 4 207 barrel wouldn't work with a long stroke crank as it would just throw all the port timings out of sinc n just kill off the bottom end so looks like the lowered barrel n modified head is the only option

Re: Stroking a Harry Barlow stage 4 top end

Where do you place your packer plate(s) jack?..I spoke to HB about it n he mentioned removing the packer from the base of the barrel where it currently is with the 57mm crank set up n getting the head machined to suit.

Stroking a Harry Barlow stage 4 top end

Would there be any benefit to putting a 60mm crank on one of these set ups?
Has it been done?
Would it just mean fitting an extra 1.5mm packer plate at the base of the barrel?

Cheers
