Re: IOW Engine fails

And then trust every cashier's full in-depth knowledge of the chemical composition of each delivery to fill up and NOT write off your top end, Tony. I've also heard of this in Devon, re marking up as e10 but it's still e5, the biggest worry is e10 marked up as e5 (and most of us have come across thi...

Re: GP head cowling

The deflector plate does deflect air across the exhaust manifold/ exhaust side of the cylinder. Its the hottest part of the cylinder. Enough air goes over the head also. I'd leave it in as a preference.

Re: IOW Engine fails

On our local news today they did an article on E10. bland "saving the planet" message to to ill-informed. Not telling the masses you get less mpg (so you use more fuel), the rainforests are cut down to make way for growing ethanol producing crops. They did say that pre 2011 cars will have ...

IOW Engine fails

I have now been made aware of four engine fails on the return trip from the IOW along the south corridor to the south west. All/ each is symptomatic of ethanol (tbc). Each one is a customer. I know of the engines or built them. I will strip each one time allowing, and correlate my findings. Two are ...

Re: Muffler impact on power?

I'm trying to work out what you are proposing, from what. A straight solid tube as a tailpipe ala clubmans? or just a straight tube off an expansion? (loud). being replace with just perforated tube, or is it inside a wadding packed tube (a muffler), on a box exhaust or pipe?

I'm sorry kurtminus, I can't resist it.... "So I am curious what’s the best thing to do when going down a steep long hill" ?? Utilise gravity and use WOT! I only use NGK on my engine builds and recommend them. I have used some Nippons but VERY rarely (short reach in modified casa SS250) an...

Re: T5 tuning kit

I thought all the tuning kits work with autolube, it is only when you start messing with the carb that the autolube is disturbed/ affected. And a standard 24 SI/G carb can and does support approx 22hp+ using the T5 filter and convoluted hose to the frame.
