Yes warts. Ill be using 316L, without going in to carbide precipitation and the such, its good stuff. I also use it daily and have an abundance of off cuts piling up for my little project.

Thanks for the thread canbus. These are indeed of great interest. However, my aim at the moment is just to make a bog standard exhaust .....but in stainless steel:)

Its probably gonna be a bit of a drawn out affair as im very limited with time. I need to find a donor exhaust first so I can make a jig and chop it up to see the internals. I will certainly post my progress!!??!

Wow. A positive reply Haha thanks....I've repaired a couple of stainless pipes over the years and all the splits and cracks have been on or around the weld area as you would expect. In all cases the welding was of a pretty poor standard, not a single weld had been back purged and had minimal penetra...

All depends on the grade of s/steel used. Im a welder so have all the gear but no idea........about exhaust techy stuff...thanks for the comments though.
