Re: Weird GP chassis number

There were a few 22/4 bikes that showed up in the US (via Canada all 200cc). All of them were very late (1996) and had the different forks with turning fender. I had one for a little bit and I know of a couple more.

Good Tip
I use one of these from Andy Francis

Same here, no problems on any crankshaft. I think if it had a longer bolt the same tool could be used on SX and GP cranks.

Re: Grey rubber trim, black kickstart/stand feet?

I believe all the feet and kickstart rubber were black from the factory. The rest of the trim rubber was grey (leg shield, runners, side panel, horn casting, fender and tail light) for a TV. That's not to say one was never sold with some color other than black. It's just not the normal factory set u...

Re: help needed to wire up complicated set up

Right on, those SIP speedos are pretty easy and the rest of it is exactly what I would have done. Dig out the meter and start ringing things out. It just takes time and careful notes.

Sounds like a pretty wild build. Let’s see it!

Re: help needed to wire up complicated set up

1,2,5,6 and 7 all are very straight forward. Just look at the diagram that comes with a varitronic it pretty much spells it out. Rear ignition switch, sounds like a Serveta. If yes then it’s a 2 wire switch with 1 in/1out for each wire (Battery and kill wires). 3&4 MC bars and switches? That could b...

Re: problem with a hyrdraulic in-board front disk backplate

I just fixed a disc back plate like that. It was powder coated and the axle wouldn’t go through the hole nicely.

I used a 12mm reamer from enco tools to clean out the coating.

Re: Dellorto VHST bs racing 28mm carb info.

My point is that any carburettor is tuneable. Not if you don't have the jets :D If it were a PHBH or Mikuni I could have had this thing jetted in quick. 9 Pounds a piece for the pilot jets plus shipping! Needless to say I did not choose this carb to use. The good news is the customer has a good tun...

Re: Dellorto VHST bs racing 28mm carb info.

This is an old one but has anyone else had luck with the VHST28 BS carb? I’m running one on a deanspeed 190 with BGM big bore and am having a little trouble dialing it in. Starts easy but it’s mad Smokey and revs a little weird on the down shift. At wide open the thing is quick with sharp throttle r...

Re: TV2 electrics

https://www.flickr.com/photos/167151767@N08/46743696601/in/dateposted-public/ That's not normal. I think the wire being brown was just what was used. Follow the diagram and you won't go wrong. Like others have posted it's a secondary condenser, usually used to try to solve an ignition problem (tied...
