Checking if a frame is stolen
Hi, Ive got a Spanish Li frame in my shed which I bought off Nigel Cox at least 20 years ago or maybe more. At the time Nigel said it wasnt stolen as far as he knew but couldnt remember where he got it from. It cost me £50 and at the time I was thinking I would rebuild it at some point with the spar...

Re: Gear shift woes
I recently had the same problem on an Li that I am finishing off for a friend. All the cables were in with all new chrome linkages with no markings on, but not connected up. Set up all the cables but couldn't select first. Thought at first it was the gear selector arm bush because the arm was rockin...

Re: Gearbox selector arm bush
Its the whole shaft that's moving. I've tightened the arm and its made no difference. The arm while on the shaft, instead of rotating, seems to be moving in the housing back and forth. You can see the shaft moving with it. I've already got in touch with the lad and he has given me the dealers number...

Re: Gearbox selector arm bush
It's the Li type. Is it usually wear on the shaft or the arm. I could strip it but the guy has paid for a rebuild so it's not my responsibility. If it's the arm I could replace that. I should have some spare somewhere.

Gearbox selector arm bush
Hi. Can anybody tell me the consequences of a worn gear change bush. I have a 62 Li that I'm finishing off for a friend. The engine was built by a dealer and was already in the frame when I recieved it. I've connected the cables and can access all gears properly other than 1st. Looking at the select...

Varitronic rectifier wiring
Hi, I've been given a scoot to finish off for a mate with a varitronic kit on. I've got the instructions for the wiring but the rectifier with the kit is not like the one on the instructions. The original has 2 rows of 2 terminals where as the one he has given me has just one row of 4 terminals can ...

Re: Exhaust Change
Just taken the exhaust off the series 2 to take it into work to do the dirty deed of cutting it up and discovered its a an AF clubman and its not the perforated material inside rattling, it was the splash plate/stand mounting bracket bolts loose causing the spalsh plate to rattle. The RS exhaust mus...
