Re: gp150 engine
just removed the clubman exhaust ( casa Anncilotti) and fitted a deadstock standard pipe to my 1970 Gp150 and its made no difference at all to top speed. Gone back to 118 main jet in 22 dellorto- does about 52/53 on flat with GPS .digital speedo . feels like better torque from low revs with standard...

Re: best place for stand feet hard plastic type
sounds daft but at a parts fair / rally buy some second hand ones off an old stand or in the tat, i always buy em, even single ones. the factory ones literally seem to last forever.
bit of boiling water and some wd40 and theyre good for another 50 years!

Re: Lambretta Overheating
Jetting is usually the culprit when it comes to heat. Too rich, too lean, too much oil, too little oil all can cause the motor to run excessively hot. Start with the easy stuff first. Clean your motor if it's covered in grime. Mix at 32:1 (3%) EVERYTIME and use the highest grade fuel you can get co...

the real reason the vespa PX is no more
having a natter with a mate who's Dad worked at Pontedera. he says that it was nothing to do with two stroke emissions why the Vespa PX was dropped. he "said" 1. the drive by sound regulations favor autos where the revs are determined by the gear ratio. the owner holding revs in lower gear...

Re: My scooters,47 years apart
might be worth trying with dvla to see if theres a last owner of your original sx. i was in Bristol the other day to buy a rare Mobylette sport moped. the guy also had a load of primaveras and v90's stashed in a prefab garage behind other nasties on old 70's logbooks. not been touched since he colle...

Re: Bgm Clubman
never ridden a tuned 200 with Gori so i@ll reserve judgement. the engines got a lot to do with noise. an iron barrel deffo makes the whole job a lot louder. id really like to see that dyno shootout as a serial clubman buyer.

Re: Spanish v Italian
early disc brake jet 200's are now over 7 grand in restored condition. they are no longer cheaper than so-so sx200's when in restored or mint condition. or a desirable metallic colour. i personally think the jets and specials were better built. if you have a state run industry that doesnt bean count...
