Re: AFR Installation - PX200

Just fitted one on mine, what would be "ideal" values to aim for? Hi, I had not been able to login for a long time now, so I am not sure if you found the answer to your question. Please check this link, I found it very helpful: https://scooterlab.uk/lambda-probes-jet-scooter-road-tech/ Sh...

Re: AFR Installation - PX200

I tried to line the values for the AFR/gear but it didn’t come out right in the previous post. I hope this is better: AFR Values at peak rpms 1st Gear: “1/4 -11.7”, “2/4 - 11.5”, “3/4 - 10.7”, “Full - 11.8” 2nd Gear: “1/4 - 10.7”, “2/4 - ?,” “3/4 - 10.7”, “Full - 11.8” 3rd Gear : “1/4 - ?”, “2/4 - 1...

Re: AFR Installation - PX200

I decided to continue this thread to share the preliminary results with you. My PX has a Malossi 210 Sport kit, that is ported. It has a BGM Big Box exhaust, KyTronik SmartBooster 2016-2, a X360 reed valve, a mechanical Dell'orto fuel pump and a Pinasco 1600g flywheel. I decided to use my GoPro to f...

Re: AFR Installation - PX200

Thanks for the information. The installation is for tuning purposes only. I will take it off and plug the hole as soon as I am done collecting the data.

AFR Installation - PX200

Hello, I am planning to install a lambda sensor in order to better tune my Malossi 210 kitted PX. I have a PGM Bigbox in place and I was wondering what the ideal place to install it would be. I thought about two seperate locations, marked with green and blue arrows here: https://www.flickr.com/photo...

Re: Vespa PX200 - Malossi - Blown engine

Hi again, I bought a pressure fuel pump from SIP (http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/fuel+pump+dellorto+_98810000) and now need a "a smaller float needle valve seat should be used to ensure proofing against raised pump pressure." as SIP states. According to Malossi the standard siz...

Re: Vespa PX200 - Malossi - Blown engine

The engine is now rebuilt with a X360 Reed valve. Short ride home during (light) snow didn't reveal much, especially I'm paranoid about engine seizing again but I sensed the much improved response at low rpms. It idles perfectly when the old disc valve setup was prone to stopping unless I blipped th...

Re: Vespa PX200 - Malossi - Blown engine

No need for any more than 2% oil in any set up if it is jetted correctly. That is not your issue here. Are you positive you didn't forget to put the oil in the tank? It is was clearly too weak but to blue the big end it would need something else. The score marks, rotary pad the actual seize up can ...

Re: Vespa PX200 - Malossi - Blown engine

That blueing and slightly slipped big-end pin are all heat related. I doubt all were from the weak jetting. Notice of the part of the crank that touched was the thin part over the hole. Is it running auto lube? It doesn't have auto lube, it's an 1988 model, so I add the oil manually. I'm very caref...

Re: Vespa PX200 - Malossi - Blown engine

Hi everyone, This certainly took an interesting twist. The new cylinder kit arrived today so the mechanics decided to check the electrical system when they noticed that the crank pin was a bit wallowy. Then they took the engine apart and saw the carnage: https://flic.kr/p/RHNeLn https://flic.kr/p/Rw...
