Hi thanks for that, i connected my multi meter, using 20k ohms resistance,green to earth and a short, ie connection, where should i start looking for the short, is it ths switch or a bad earth somewhere?

Kill switch problem
I cannot start my rebuild series 1 with the kill switch connected to the cdi, i have check the cabling which is new and resoldered a new pice of wire onto the kill switch which still hasnt sorted the problem. Its a new carb, will strip and reclean the weekend, no not using an inline filter if thats what you mean
and only using a standard air filter but have a tv2 air scoop and air box to allow more air in.

Hi thanks for the comments, no i havent changed any parts except seals, bearing and gaskets. I have rechecked the clutch and took the cable off, now i cannot move the kickstart at all so guess something was wrong with the ckutch but now have another problem. Kickstart stiffening
Following a complete rebuild and upgrade to a mugello 186 kit on my series 1, i have done around 700 miles and my kickstart seems to be getting stiffer, making it harder to kick over and start, any ideas why?
