Hi changed condenser and new plug and points took her out for the first time in a while still exactly the same just dies out after 5-8 miles have to wait 15 min and she will go fine

Just back from IOW rally on my series 2 original engine. Had a few problems same thing each time after about 5 miles she just stops, actually it happened 4 times not seized as still kicked over but wouldn't start put in new plug started went then 5 miles approx stopped again some lads even tried bum...
