Re: brass exhaust nuts
My understanding is that they used brass nuts (a lot of cars use brass nuts on the exhaust as well) because brass expands a lot with very little heat so the nuts tend to lock themselves on to a running motor as it warms up.

Re: Ankor wax - ACF50
I've been using ACF50 for about 15 years now (dad worked in the aircraft industry) and it does everything it claims. Excellent stuff. Parts that have been sitting in the shed for 10+ years and not a speck of rust on them. I just spray it into a bowl and brush it on with a paint brush. You can wipe i...

Re: Lambretta sip speedo is it more hassle than its worth ??
I don't have an SIP speedo on my Jet, but really, this is a Lambretta, I think you could save yourself a lot of money and hassle if you just took a crayon and wrote "You're out of Revs, you're going too slow, you're about to seize and you're late" on the top of the headset. : )

Re: bgm/mb clubman exhaust
If it's Indian clubman quiet, I'll be interested. If it's AF Clubman "quiet" definitly not. My AF Clubman is pretty stinkin' loud. Thanks

Re: bgm/mb clubman exhaust
Can any of you guys with one comment on how loud it is compared to an AF Clubman exhaust or an Indian Big Bore ? I used to run an AF Clubman of my Stage 4 Jet 200 with a 28 PHBH Dellorto but recently went to an Indian Big Bore. These days I'm more concerned with it having good bottom end pull around...

Re: Scoot RS 'Atomic' reed valve conversion...
I'm a little confused ?
LTH has the most clearance between the panel and the carb ?
MBD has less clearance ?
Scoot RS has very little clearance ?
I'm looking to put a reed valve on a stock ported barrel with a Dellorto PHBH carb and a remote air filter.

Re: silencer ?????
With the Fresco that's exactly it, I've repacked the can but the body is so thin that the can doesn't do much. The Indian big bore is reasonable, I don't necessarily need stock muffler quiet, but my AF Clubman is stoopid loud. I'm on the email list for when the new MB/BGM clubman comes but this is C...

silencer ?????
HI All I'm running a Serveta Jet 200 stage 4 tuned with a dellorto 28 carb. I have been using an AF Clubman but I'm getting to the age (and the new family status) where it's just way too loud. I really only get to ride in town in the evenings when my baby daughter has gone to sleep and I don't want ...

Re: Ton up Scooter
The world land speed record for a 50cc bike is 131.545 MPH. Yep, fifty cubic centimeters and one hundred and thirty one point five four five miles per hour. It's really about how much money you have to spend.

Re: 5-speed
I for one would be interested in building a Lambretta that can do 100 MPH, but it ain't gonna be a road going bike that is going to go that fast. A Lambretta can't make enough HP at the RPM needed to make a 10 inch wheel turn that fast and yet still survive in traffic. I read an interesting article ...
