Re: Differences in kick start shafts

Good points. I just put in 2 new plain bushings. Both the GP style and early Li style fit in snug. Tbe Li is longer in shaft but can easily be shimmed below the circlip. I'm confident there is no slop. Tonight I'll focus on comparing the dimensions facing the hub, as the Li type is not getting close...

Differences in kick start shafts

I've got a 65 s3 tv175. Had to replace the kickstart shaft, purchased a good casa one, early style. Installed, but the piston teeth are missing the first gear. The side case is not original. It had a gp style shaft in it. Examining the two, in addition to the shaft being longer, the GP one is taller...

What causes the kick start arm to start rubbing?

1000kms on a fresh rebuild and the kick start arm just now starts to rub against the clutch top plate. What's most likely changed to cause this? It's a tv175 but the kick start arm is a scootopia, which I ground down a bit.

Re: Tv175 disc brake squeal

Hey, thanks so much for this. I went with sintered pads and on the static side it was a very tight fit. I assumed that was wrong and sanded the edges to allow up / down motion. So I made it worse. Duh. I will put this scoot up on the bench this weekend and pull the brake and start over, following yo...

Re: Perfected technique to save a crank bearing race

I made this bearing puller for £20 works great and no damage took this original gp race off in seconds https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201228/cc572b31a6a004f218a6d0589aee331d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201228/c7d97b54185f38f8e8abdb2f01c806fd.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201...

Re: Polini 210 ALU, did your rings need filing?

Mine were fine, cant tell you the gap as a mate measured them while I was porting the cases, its done a couple of 1,000 miles since without issue, had trouble with the squish being huge, got it down to 1.4mm, the circlips were a tw@7 to get on though, I run timing at 18 degrees & it sits around...

Perfected technique to save a crank bearing race

I hate throwing away a good quality bearing with lots of life left when changing a crank out. What I find works really well after some experiments: -crank in freezer overnight. - put a leather work glove on the gear side and clamp this in a vice - use a small butane torch with a fine flame. Heat jus...

Best place in UK post a lambretta TV for sale?

Are there any particularly good places to post in the UK? Is everyone using FB now for this? Thanks in a...
