Re: Carburetor cleaning

Once degreased a hot, weak solution of phosphoric acid will do the same. Cleans carbs superbly..

Re: REMADE ORIGINAL DISCBRAKES : ITALIAN OR SCOOTRS TYPE ?

I'm a fussy git when it comes to originality but have to say that ScootRS die cast one looks superbly made and most probably as close as you'll get to an original..

Re: SCOMADI TL 250 ON DISPLAY AT IOW

I know they're not really comparable but I'll do it anyway and mention that a GTS250 is less than half of that price. That said, with the production volumes so low, I'm sure you'll find more than enough customers. Your right the GTS250/300 is half the price, but they've got about as much style as m...

Re: advice on spraying cellulose please

Ref the top coats, you dont flat between coats. With cellulose theres certainly an art to it but its generally thinned down more as further coats go on. Leave for around ten minutes between coats, around 4 coats is sufficient to allow for cutting back with the last coat applied 'wet' but obviously av...

Re: polishing paintwork

Ref polishing cloths, i find 3M microfibre cloths excellent, a little expensive @ £7 for three but can be used over and over after washing out. Also picks up fine dust like a magnet.

Lovely fnish on the Vespas, even with a clear coat, the very hardest colour to polish without swirls.

Not at all, just lifts out all the ingrained dirt. Phos acid is used as an ally cleaner and in higher %ages a rust remover..

Re: chroming carb body

Oggy, strip the carb down and dip it into a hot solution of phosphoric and nitric acid. Around 20-1 mix is fine.
Leave to soak fizz and bubble away for 5 mins and rinse. Wont come out like chrome but will give the ally that new look.
