Re: GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

Hello all. Thank you for all advice, which is food for thought. The picture I showed is actually of a tank with a cut-out. It may be a rubbish tank for all I know, although it's been in there for a little while and the 25mm Delly sits nicely. It definitely feels like the 30mm manifold sits different...

GT186 30mm Dell' Orto carb question

Hi all. I have a quick Q re. a 30mm Delly carb set-up for this kit, which I've always previously used a 25mm carb on. A while ago I was given a 30mm carb and l/hand 30mm manifold for the 186GT kit as a (requested) birthday prezzie. When I tried to fit it today I hit a snag. Basically, the upturned b...

Re: GT186 piston skirt question

Thanks Rich. You were right, I had originally ordered a wrong piston. I re-ordered a 64.75 piston from Dez Askill, which you kindly delivered to him place last Friday. It's still just catching very slightly in the downstroke, which is a bit of an arse. Is it Ok to machine off 0.75mm or therea...

GT186 piston skirt question

I'm hoping someone can offer advice re. an unexpected problem with fitting an oversize piston to a rebored GT186 kit. It's a 64.75mm Mitaka, so on its second rebore (it limped on with a massive ring gap for the past 18 months). Problem is, the bottom of the piston skirt now hits the crankcase on the...

Rocho68 6-plate clutch advice needed

Advice needed re. engine oil for the above clutch set-up, which I bought 5-6 years ago and mislaid after a house fire. It surfaced last week after several years in storage. I'm fairly sure mine has the Yamaha plates, as opposed to the earlier Aprilia ones. I seem to recall the advice back then was t...

Re: Name change- British Lambretta Owners Association Club

Nic your last post aimed at me is laughably. I'm not getting aggressive in any way. Your explanation about weeks just proved to many that denied it happened that it did.. my point stands in regard to that... he should have been banned from the club not just lost his public position on the committee...

Re: Name change- British Lambretta Owners Association Club

Im not having a go at you, im just pointing out how your statements can be interpreted. More than once you have used the words "we" and "us" and stated how you have been involved in advising the committee, yet now your saying you haven't. LOL You saying your trying to "avoi...

Re: Name change- British Lambretta Owners Association Club

Bit of a difference telling someone to STFU rather than just moderating/restraining their replies. Some might see that as trying to shut the argument down? Fair point Tim, i’m not trying to shut the argument down but just trying to stop someone adding fuel to the fire with lies and snidey comments....
