Pretty sure you can buy cheap enough clam shell repros ,could drill the rivets out and swap the faces over maybe , or leave a 'dummy' horn on show and fit the ugly one under the mudguard somewhere.

hi can anyone give me timming and rough jetting for 172 mallossi runing standard carb no porting etc and no autolube exhaust will be pm going to strop and do bearings and seals Leave the timing as standard - but it would be good to strobe it as the standard marks are not necessarily that accurate ....

Yes any airleak caused by seal or otherwise ,such as head, carb seating. All the tickover screw does is hold the slide in a certain position to stop it closing right up so you are having that bypassed by the air rushing in somewhere else. Sounds like an air leak ,could be main oil seal at worse. If you unscrew and take the clutch cover breather out then start the engine ,when it starts screaming by itself put your finger on the clutch breather hole ,if the revs settle down then it's the main seal needing replacing, because when they ...

Yes. Wheel off, then 3 m5 or m6 bolts. Take care not to drop the brass plunger down the gearbox .
