I have a clasiic rapido 225 and that will not do 80...i'm running a 30mm PHBH carb, 48mm clubman, GP 200 g/box and i'm happy when it touches 70 (GPS), which is very rarely. Cruising at 65 is probably 5mph too much.
Just building my Avanti...then hopefully those speeds (65 and 80) will be achieved.

I recall the police being chased out of the car park, down a long road back into Keswick, where (and i heard it myself) a cheif inspector type had a bullhorn and was saying/shouting "hold the line men or they'll take the town"..........ahhhh the good old days !!!

Just putting a brand new engine together (parts sourced from different suppliers), i'm going by Sticky's book and he says "be carefull when fitting the mag flange, check it doesn't tighten the crank".....yep it does but he doesn't give a solution !! what now ?? I'm thinking the crank isn't...

Is there any chance of you getting hold of a Ron Moss Avanti Clubman and the franspeed Avanti to try ? As their names suggest they are designed for this barrel ?

Fitted one on my GP....improved braking but still not brilliant....may need a bit more tweaking ? .....don't get your hopes up !!
