could you have damaged the cylinder head when doing the work ?
Causing air to be dragged into the barrel ?
This would behave as though there is no choke being used and cause difficult starts
on top of poor running if you did get it started.

Sounds like the kickstart gear is upside down or the brass plunger has slipped from the clutch cover and is pressing on the the clutch.goldeneye wrote:kickstart gear been put in upside down?
