Re: 2003 PX125 Disc chronic misfire at speed

Changed the stator and no change, fitted a new carb and all sorted, I was sure it was fuel related.

Re: 2003 PX125 Disc chronic misfire at speed

Sorry to ressurect this thread but I've got a very similar problem. Only when the throttles held fully open so at the top end of the revs (mainly in 4th but sometimes in 3rd), it just seems to misfire and hold back as if the brakes is being dabbed very quickly. Sometimes when riding fast for long pe...

Re: Vespa PX200 disc... Electrics question

What state is the battery in? Have you tried a new known good battery? It might be that it charges up but doesn't provide enough current / oooomph to start the electric start motor, especially if it's an old battery thats not been charged for a while..........

Re: Simple fix.......or so I thought!

Finally got round to doing this - as mentioned above, the rings were well and trully gummed into the piston. Piston was pretty badly scored as well (the barrel looked fine though!). It's the first time I've had the top end off this one so I don't know if it was an old piston or not. Back on the road...

Re: Want to add tachometer to my P200e...

And mine, the only problem with it is it doesn't have a backlight so is rubbish in the dark.

PM tuning do one that is backlit, http://www.pmtuning.co.uk/pmdm002 although it's a wee bit more pricey.

Re: Simple fix.......or so I thought!

I was thinking (dreading) the same thing myself but wanted to check everything else before I take the top end off.............my only question is with the rings gummed up or worn will you still get normal / near normal compression when kicking it over? I'm guessing this would explain why it runs nor...

Re: Simple fix.......or so I thought!

Cheers for all the replies. No, I've not been tinkering before it's happened it's just got progressively harder to start over the last few months. Flywheel woodruff key is good. It does bump eventually, but it's the same as kicking it it takes a while, which all my work mates seem to find entertaini...

Re: Simple fix.......or so I thought!

I assume so. The arm is moving freely in the carb when the choke is pulled / released. When it's warm and ticking over if you pull the choke it bogs down so I think it's working ok. Have also tried not using the choke at all and just leaning it over on the engine side for 10 secs and starting that w...

Simple fix.......or so I thought!

My scooter (bog standard TX200) has been getting progressively harder to start when cold, it's my daily driver so gets used every day. Once started it runs fine and once warmed up ticks over fine, BUT to get it started from cold takes fooking LOADS of kicks (about 50+). It used to start first or sec...
