Re: REMADE ORIGINAL DISCBRAKES : ITALIAN OR SCOOTRS TYPE ?
I have a Scoot RS copy inboard disc, so which original spares don't fit, kinda need to know ready for when servicing/repair time comes along. All things considered Vietnam can be quite a distance when getting small and simple spares ( ok if your putting a larger order in ) thinking stuff like bearin...

Re: Genuine Keihin vs OKO copy
Hi, I had a genuine Keihin from Scoot RS and could not get it to work at all, hours wasted messing around( including heat siezures etc ) just didn't flow fuel well enough through the body. Then got a OKO copy and hey presto worked like a dream, both were 28mm ( OKO was 28/30 oval bore ). Ended up ru...

Re: My gp.
Called Gary Simpson about a seat on tuesday, what a great lad, couldn't do enough, he's the sort of guy that still makes worthwhile having this hobby/way of life, could have chatted for hours to the man. Anyway ordered one of his seats as shown on this scoot, £100 inc postage etc. If you want a gre...

Re: Clutch crownwheel clearance.
Thanks for the reply, yeah I set my crownwheel/spider/bronze bush up to the dimensions in Sticky's book, with the spider sticking through .1mm when all assembled. You are also correct in thinking that the bushes are made to differing tolerances as I just tried another and it wont even go into the cr...

Clutch crownwheel clearance.
Hi all, Got a bit of a snag, building my new engine transmission and when all lined, shimmed & torqued up the chain rubs on the raised lip for the end of the layshaft/bearing on the endplate. Fitted progressively thicker shims and at the moment have a 1.37mm fitted, this seems to have created cl...

Re: Scootrs Carburetor
I had 2 PWK type carbs from Scoot RS, first one a genuine Kehin did not run well at all just didn't flow fuel( Carb returned/exchanged no probs ), the second a OKO copy is still on now and runs well ( 28/30mm on a iron 200 ) after @ 2000 miles or so, so thumbs up. Dellorto carbs can have their probl...

Re: Gearbox endplate.
Yup all the bits are there, it's just the fact the layshaft end is not flush with the endplate bearing track outer ridge and the play that exists when rocking the hub end of the layshaft.

Re: Gearbox endplate.
Anyone got any help on this ? Additional info - RIV rear hub bearing bought from a good dealer, INA needle roller bearings elsewhere. Just a bit concerned that the layshaft needle roller may not be seated all the way into the bearing track in the endplate thus causing the play at the hub end. Really...
