Re: Houston ....we have a problem ...
If you want to use the cheap Indian barrel complement it with a 110 rodded crank & base packer. That’ll move the port up & solve the problem..... hope this helps.

Re: E Bay TV 200 barrel..
Not from the photo's. No notches on the top fin gives it a plus point. All I run is cast 200's one jet spec &one TV 200 spec.. hence keeping a lookout for similar barrels..but I was shocked at the price paid for this item.

Mate of mine had an early 70’s special . The colour was white with red side panels/horn cast..much like Italian 8080white.

Re: Alternative crankshafts for a TV175
Glad you're sorted but been after a 58/116 decently priced crank myself....trouble is it's for a jet200 build. Standard set up but fancied the TV crank. Is there any piston port short crown 66.0 mm plus pistons on the market for such set up?

Re: jet 200
Leave it totally standard. Anything need renewing? If so replace with like for like. If it's touring/ reliability you're after you've got it already. Pleasure to ride from urban thro to sitting at 55 mph all day long. Wind & hills not a problem in 4th in the main. The sx200/jet set up all day lo...

Re: backfiring.
Could it be air leak causing pre ignition. Had similar problem couple of years ago . Changed everything electrical / crank- top end & backfiring continued. Only thing NOT changed was the engine case which is early jet200 used for the first time. First engine I ever gave up on( it's still on a sh...

Re: Standard TV200 performance tweaks?
Be careful tweaking this set up if it still has the tall gearbox in it. The TV 200 , especially with the first version 'ring breaker barrel is a great ride left standard. I'm running one with a good piston so it doesn't spew the rings out, all ports polished & matched to the standard carb - exha...
