Re: PM 'Power Valve' thingy

I had one of these fitted to a mikeck on a 210 reed valve, taffspeed fitted it while I waited. It worked great by reducing the flat spot before the power band. Worked fine until the diaphragm operating the valve split...then split again and again....then it fell apart in the middle

Re: Water Cooling For Idiots

Thanks a lot for the info lads. Another question I was wondering... Is there any info around on setting up liquid Cooling? What's needed rad, hose, pump, pump switch? What to avoid. I'm really doing this from nothing without any info and I can't seem to find any websites on the setting up of LC on ...

Re: Water Cooled Suzuki 220 MRB

Its good to see a water cooled conversion on the forum, makes a change from all that hot air  I like the way the coolant is fed up from the barrel into the head, very neat. My own malossi LC is nearly complete but would love some more details of the rest of the cooling system (What pump does i...

Re: What degrees timing....

I did a road test once on 210, pm pipe, std carb and found as the ign timing was decreased from say 19 deg to 14 deg the whole power band seemed to widen by 4 or 5 mph, as I was more concerned about pinking at the time, I didnt really think too much about it. Interested now tho`

Re: What degrees timing....

I get what you`re saying and having done a little bit of playing with rear cone angles I can see why igntion timing for overrev might be a better option. shallower cone= more revs but less of a hit in the power. steeper cone=more of a power hit but it can stop dead after peaking. But it seems igniti...

Re: What degrees timing....

What I found when mapping my race stuff on dyno. It may not be 100% but its what appeared to happen. With an off-pipe motor the ignition would require more advance to burn the impure charge. As the motor gets into its stride, the charge becomes purer and will burn faster, hence less advance and one...
