Re: Kickstart not engaging

I was actually starting to wonder if I had a duff gear or something, I'll see if stickys book tells me how thick each gear should be. I'll get in to it tomorrow, I'm just back from the Aberdeen march of the mods ride-out and I'm away to have a well deserved pint. I'll keep you posted with what I find.

Re: Kickstart not engaging

Holty, good point regarding end float. I noticed there was a 2.6mm cyclone shim fitted and there was still far too much play. I'm pretty sure 2.6mm is the biggest available (I actually thought 2.5 was the max). I'll check the items suggested by Daz Blakey too, but the whole thing is a bloody pest. W...

Re: Kickstart not engaging

I'll check it out Holty, cheers. The shaft I bought is a Casa one, but I'll have another look at it and see if there's anything obvious.

Re: Kickstart not engaging

Hello mate, those items have all been changed already. It's a total puzzler. So far it's had a new chain case (I wanted a new one anyway so it seemed like the right time), shaft, plunger (2 of) and pins (2 of). I bought the scoot with this problem and despite changing all of the mentioned parts the ...

Kickstart not engaging

Evening folks, this is a weird one but I bet someone here has seen this before.... My GP kickstart won't engage with the starter teeth 90 percent of the time I kick it over, it almost catches but crunches to the bottom of the floor without engaging. Eventually after nursing it slowly, it will take a...

Re: RB Cylinder repair

Well gents, thank you for all the replies. Here's an update of what I'm doing. The barrel and head are being sent to Harry Barlow, the Nikasil will be removed and replaced with Ceramic, the ports will also have some work done as some of the original porting design is slightly flawed. A new modified ...

Re: RB Cylinder repair

Cheers for all the replies folks. Yes my barrel needs re-lined, the nikasil plating has been damaged in four separate places. I tried honing it but it's beyond it. Thanks again guys.

RB Cylinder repair

Hi folks, due to my own stupid fault I've managed to seize my RB225 this afternoon. I've stripped it down and unfortunately I won't get away with just replacing the piston. My question is, who is the best person/dealer for me to send the barrel to for it to be repaired/re-lined as necessary? There a...

Re: RB kit help with carb manifold please.

Cheers for the picture sir. I can see straight away that your fuel tank has a cut-away for the carb. Mine doesn't.

So it looks like I now need to go and get a new fuel tank! And I've just had mine chromed!

Does it ever end...........

Re: RB kit help with carb manifold please.

What tank is it? Is it like this one? Someone posted on here before about a similar issue with a carb and a tank. I think it was Screwdriver. It could be worth checking I'm using a Diablo long Range tank on my RB and you'll be hard pressed to find any complaints about fitment with carbs. Yes it's s...
