Running problem

Other than a carburettor problem, what's likely to of made my scooter difficult to start and not want to tick over/idle? I was running well at about 60ish when it died (seemed like engine was siezing slowly) pulled in clutch, slowed down (had no choice) put it in second & let clutch out, scooter...

I'm running this kit with a 42mm clubman and 30mm oko carb, it's a great kit, was keeping up with tuned P2 vespa's on the way back from Camber, they clocked us at about 70mph.
djh66 is also running the GT186 with a 30mm delly, but i think he started on a 26mm carb and he has an expansion pipe.

I take it you've put the slotted brass actuator nipple thing that pushes on the centre disc of the clutch, on the end of the clutch arm ?

Phoned scooter restorations today to enquire about a piston, they no longer stock them and wont be in the future. :(
What's the next best option?

I had the same problem mate, piston arrow is stamped the wrong way :( . put it in with the arrow pointing to the inlet port and it'll be fine.
