Re: Polini 210 ALU, did your rings need filing?

Mine were fine, cant tell you the gap as a mate measured them while I was porting the cases, its done a couple of 1,000 miles since without issue, had trouble with the squish being huge, got it down to 1.4mm, the circlips were a tw@7 to get on though, I run timing at 18 degrees & it sits around 320f...

Re: polini 210 temp

My alloy Polini 210 runs in the 300=340f range normally, I have seen 400f on a hot day under load, timing 18 degrees, squish 1.4mm, never had any issues.

Re: Tyre Choices

The best tyres I,v ever had on a Scooter were Yokohama Profires, grip was fantastic, filled me with confidence every time out no matter what the weather, worst I,v had lately are S1's, I just couldn't cope with them tracking white lines, but dont dismiss S83's as an allrounder, they are a lot better...

Re: POLINI 210 ALLOY on DT,s DYNO

50% increase for £350 aint bad Martin, but its not about HP for me these days, I just want a nice, reliable, relatively cheap, easy ride, which I dont have to strip down and check every winter, which it seems I have. Top speed, TBH I dont know Martin, what I do know is it pulls from 20 - 70 in 4th g...

POLINI 210 ALLOY on DT,s DYNO

Standard carb, crank & clutch, SIP Road 2, casings ported to match base gasket, timeing 18 degrees, squish 1.4mm. Just had it on Darrell Taylors dyno at the York SC do [very nice knowledgeable fella is Darrell] and he said it was jetted perfect for road use, ever so slightly rich all the way through...

Anyone found a cheaper place to buy a Trail-Tech temp gauge than this, that comes with the correct length cable or found a better option, cheers.

Re: POLINI 210 ALLOY

Most, if not all wright ups I,v read on Si carbs say the main doesn't come into play until around 1/3 throttle, but looking into the carb this is not the case, as I,v said as soon as the slide moves fuel starts to come through the main, not full bore but it does start to flow. Just a point of intere...

Re: POLINI 210 ALLOY

Mines rich at the bottom end with a stock 55/160 pilot in when using a big main, thinking of going leaner on the pilot, i could maybe then go up on the main to a 135 because I could do with more plug colour higher up, I,v noticed when looking into the carb that the main comes in as soon as the slide...
