Re: sip stud.nuts coming undone

My advice for what its worth is that i use the sip rims....however dont just wack them on your scooter without checking fitment first. I have found that especially on Lambretta rear hubs, when you first install them, take the hub off and fit it to the rim loosely off the scoot. If it fits perfectly ...

Re: Jetting advice please

Reed valves dont tend to.... " put, put, put" when you come off the throttle. They do shut off to tickover very quickly without the "put, put, put" however if it is not going to tickover and the engine is dieing instead......that would tend to indicate a too rich condition somewh...

Re: Jetting advice please

Agree with muppet. AV266 atomiser. Once you have her ticking over nicely and set air srew, idle jet etc put the needle on the richest position you can get away with without spluttering like a good un in the mid range ......as its in the mid range throttle position (cruising) where most overheating d...

Re: Jetting advice please

Ok. When you go out for a test run what part of throttle are you riding at when you go to shut down?
Can i ask why you are using an X4 needle instead of an X7 or X13?

Re: Jetting advice please

Change the 200 float valve to a 300. This will make sure the float bowl wont empty of fuel before it can fill up when riding at high speeds.....this is a must! However it probably wont have any effect on what you are experiencing as normally if you shut off and the float bowl is draining quicker tha...

Re: Jetting advice please

If your idle screw is pretty much right in and it still struggles to tick over and needle clip changes dont really make a difference to tick over i would try a 45 slide for sure. You could try an AV264 atomiser with a 40 slide but i would rather have a 45 slide with an AV266 myself every time. I rec...

Re: Jetting advice please

If when you rev it up and you wait for revs to come down it comes down instantly without any firing and then cuts out or really struggles to tick over and your tick over screw is more or less fully wound in and you have tried idle jets in th 48 to 55 range it is likely that your slide is too rich. D...

Re: Can a damaged crank be repaired or buy new?

The 2 crank flywheels are only held together by a pressed pin. These cranks are trued (after being pressed) by using a set of v blocks, dial gauges and copper mallet! So in short, do not hit with a hammer or hammer and punch as it will knock it out of true.....slightly or severely! Use the crank spr...
