Re: Welcome to the 21st Century

Hopefully this will work.

Not the best photo perhaps. But if you sort of squint at it you can make out the space between the manifold and frame. Must be a good 1cm. And that's stood.

I'm on my 2nd set of City Grip Winters, I like them, decent grip in all weathers (I ride all year round) and get up to 3k miles on the rear.
That is good. You're not five stone soaking wet are you?

Re: Welcome to the 21st Century

I'll see if I can get a picture over the weekend. I'm using the Readspeed manifold and I'm not aware of it being a problem. I must admit I had a bit of a fear of anything over 22mm, which is why I stuck to standard carbs. All these needles and things still seem a bit like black magic, but I'm coming...

But finally I fitted a kit that needs a bigger carb, and what a difference it makes. It just feels better all round. It remains to be seen if it is any less economical, but t...

what are the benefits of a PHBL over a PHBH?
They are more suited to running through the airbox however you may need to drill the airbox to get enough air through.
I'm running one through a standard airbox. Not drilled at all. Although I do use the BGM filter.

Re: Welcome to the 21st Century

Doesn't a standard carb feel stiff afterwards though? I jumped on another scooter and I thought there was something wrong. The smoothness of the throttle on the PHBL just makes riding so much nicer.

There is Mark Hodgkinson. I think that's his name. He's on FB. Maybe someone here will have his details.
