Re: Choke cable
I think the inner is probably the same length. But the outer on a GP is longer because there is no elbow.

Re: At Last!
I seem to vaguely remember something about them being used on other Italian bikes, but I couldn't tell you which ones. Glad you got it sorted. The Jetex is much maligned. But it doesn't really take a lot to get them running well. When I've run them in the past I've found that they don't really let e...

Re: 175 Piston
Thankyou WT, good advice as always. It's something I don't know a great deal about, I must admit. but with my lay mans knowledge I know the original 175 barrel was not designed for a packer. If you raised it would it not throw out the port timings?

Re: My latest barn(ish) finds
A nice find Dave. It looks okay. Where abouts in Canada are you? Hi, I’m in Toronto. Just put the body work on and the correct bench seat (but the cover is a cheap repop). https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200505/d1ac2de40ed63654f5eda84b525b5b3d.jpg Nice. I was in Ontario a few years ago. Didn't g...

Re: 175 Piston
Well, this one has come back to bit me on the bum a bit. I blame the virus. I said I was going down the 175 route, and I did. I had a 60 x 110 crank, a conversion piston and a nice GP barrel to bore out to 175. I've thrown a spanner in the works of my own making really. Because nothing much has been...

Re: GT 186 with or without standard filter.
I have a GT186 kit. I use a PHBL25 and it breathes through a wire BGM filter in the airbox. Mind you it is a TV airbox with the thick neck, but other than that it's not I haven't modified it in any way.

Re: Thinking Aloud
Oh, it's one I found whilst poking about in the shed. The only reason I asked is because it's had a seize and there is a deep gouge. I think it's beyond a honing, which is why I asked about boring it out. I did think of the TS185 pistons.

Thinking Aloud
Can you bore an original 175 barrel out to 185, and what size would that be? And what piston would you use?
