Hello Troops, I've started collecting panelwork for a series 3 project. I have legshields which seem to be Serveta according to the info in the Sticky book. Will they be a better fit on a later Italian frame or will they also fit on a chrome ring frame. I'm no snob so a Serveta frame would be just a...

Well I finally got the time to strip the head and barrel off , done as was suggested re. the wet and dry and it seems to have worked . Well pleased .
Just have to put some miles in now and run the barrel in . Thanks lads

check cylinder head /gasket face for trueness Would this cause the type of noise I've described ? :? yes air escaping between head and barrel when turning over gives a very noticeable squeek ,cure as bilko says I'll be giving it a go as soon as I get the time , 12 hour night-shifts don't leave much...

This happened to me years ago. As Ricspeed says, check your head on some oiled wet and dry taped to a flat surface. That was how I fixed it.

I've just fitted a Rapido Classic to my GP200 . I also fitted a Broady top chain guide and a standard bottom guide along with a new IWIS chain , everything seemed to go back together fine .
