Re: T5 Flywheel Bearing Catching on Crank

Was meaning to mention that I've now shimmed the main bearing as there was a 0.4mm gap between the outer race and the circlip.

Re: T5 Flywheel Bearing Catching on Crank

Hello Gaz Thanks for your reply, tis appreciated. Only just picked this up. The clearance must be pretty minimal in that area. I think the bearing bore is only 14mm deep to allow room for the oil feed hole. The marks on the crank are not a full 360° which makes me think perhaps the crank web has a t...

T5 Flywheel Bearing Catching on Crank

Hello I'm rebuilding a T5 motor for a mate. He seized it coming home from Mersea. The flywheel bearing has been catching on the crank - there are witness marks on the crank cheek and some blueing of the bearing's outer race. At first I thought the bearing had not been fitted correctly as it was prot...

Bushes for Escorts Rear Damper

Hello

The rubber bush in the top eye of my Escorts rear damper has broken apart. The damper isn't very old at all so I'd like to rebuild rather than replace. Anyone know where I can get decent (maybe upgraded) new bushes from please?

Cheers

Re: Fibre Spacer on LT Coil

OK, terrible thread. I re-read it and started to cry it was so dull.
Still don't understand why a fibre spacer, that must be thermally insulating, is used next to a heatsink though.
I shall rebuild with fibre spacers bought from Scooter Restorations.

cheers

Fibre Spacer on LT Coil

Hello Just been rebuilding a stator after lowering the pickup height and managed to bust the fibre spacer that sits between the LT coil and the outer metal spacer that the laminates clamp up to. Does anyone know what the purpose of this part is please? The outer metal spacer on this stator is a bras...

Re: Clutch Suddenly Started to Drag

Hello Rebuilt the clutch last week with some used springs from t shed. Also replaced one cork plate that looked a wee bit fried (sticking?) with an oldie but goodie from the shed. Bent the ears up on the bottom plate too. All seems hunky dory now and survived a ride to and from work. Hopefully it'll...
