Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

as promised the last graphs with the unported kit. Blue line is MMW head and Ludwig and Scherer Tourist exhaust with 37,7 Nm or 27,29 lb/ft. The other runs are different reed petals and standard head. The difference between a "cold" run and a "hot" run are more visible with the higher compression an...

Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

i have a 2k compound that resists 350°, but first I don´t know how long it will withstand the much higher temperature and second I am afraid it will be pushed back into the cylinder :o

Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

thx a lot Darrell for sharing!! Very interesting, I dunno if I have the time to try it on the charity engine...finalisation date is coming closer. I bring the engine to germany to the SIP-Customshow, where I have a small stall promoting the raffle and then the engine will stay in germany at a mate w...

Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

thx Tom, I do :-) I think I am with your riding style Adam :-) Darell I think it did exactly what CE and/or TS said, 30 bhp with a 30mm carb. All higher bhp runs were with either bigger carbs, other pipes and other heads. But as you said, important is to see what differences modifications do. I am s...

Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

I was surprised (and suspicious) as you are. Transmission was 1) calcualted by the Dyno (Amerschläger P4) and after the low peak and high torque 2) checked by a Lammy gearbox table and the calculation was correct. All runs are in 3rd gear. Varitronic Ignition has to be set at the Dyno software (Val...

I thought the carbon reeds will give better top end and fiber reeds better low down power. How wrong. The carbon reeds topped the fiber ones in the best case (cold engine vs cold eng...

Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

here is a comparisation between a road ported TS1 with Franspeed race pipe (but 35mm carb, fixed ignition) and the untouched SM (38mm carb, varitronic) with the Franspeed race pipe on the same dyno

graph 4: SM franspeed (red, blue) and TS1 Franspeed (green)

Re: Super Monza for charity - child cancer research

For the exhaust test I used the 38 mm carb. Exhausts tested on this day: Supermonza exhaust (italian version) vs. Franspeed Race vs. Ludwig und Scherer Tourist vs. Ludwig und Scherer Reiseleiter. The latter 3 exhausts are all TS1 pipes NOT made for the portarea of the SM Kit, but the Ludwig and Sche...
