Re: Vespa stand

Cut the bracket off the stand then reweld nearer to the left. There should be some slots in the floorboard crossmember next to the one used now but if not dremel a new one in.

Re: GP/dl clutch: which one is correct?

If you fit a top circlip to the shaft above the actuator it will foul the casing. The E clip seems to serve no purpose as far as I can tell as it doesn't sit up against the inner casing shaft housing.

Re: S3 chaincase on an s1 crankcase

There shouldn't be any difference, I've used Ser 3 side casings on Ser1's several times with no troubles, I'd suggest your clutch is the problem.

Re: Rebuild Problems

Before you pull it apart remove the clutch cover and work the kickstart and see if the clutch is turning as the key may have snapped or fallen out when refitting the clutch.

Re: kickstart issues destroyed the casing

Could you have inadvertently fitted a Smallframe kickstart cog as the engagement teeth face the opposite way to a P range? This may explain the noise on initial start up which would then cause friction and weld it to the tree. When the quadrant is in the rest position it allows the cog to freewheel ...
