Agreed. But it is good to understand why this is true. The material the gasket is made from and the amount of heat it will be exposed to. I recommend getting a head that is inset into the barrel. This will keep it from happening.

Re: Casa vs. Scootopia

I've got a Casa 185 on a series 2 and it is almost impossible to kickstart it.(the kickstart lever wont move unless you put all your weight(I weigh 16 stone) on it.)The gearbox is an Italian Li 150 with 16x46 sprockets. My Casa 185 was also extremely difficult to kick over. A compression test showe...

Re: Casa 185 piston rings issue (64mm)

Update:

This issue seems to have invaded Casa Lambretta’s distribution. If you have a Casa 185 kit sitting on the shelf, I recommend you take a look at the rings. If you have a piston ring end gap exceeding 0.30mm, maybe contact the shop you bought it from.

Casa 185 piston rings issue (64mm)

This question is for an earlier version of the Casa 185 small block kit with 64mm piston. After about 800 miles (somewhere between 600-800), I serviced the top end and found the piston ring gaps to be 0.46mm. The barrel itself shows almost no wear, with the honing marks still visible with no smooth/...

Re: SH1/20 carb question

My thoughts too.. It’s just a pal reported fuelling problems after I replaced a worn needle as a solution to consistent carb flooding and overflow?? Cheers steve The length of the float needle will affect when the fuel valve opens an closes since the height of the plastic floats can’t be adjusted. ...

Re: Frame modification necessary for S3 when using 60/110 crank and RT225?

For the record, I am aware of individual products that are to be avoided, for one reason or another, produced by particular Manufacturers. When a product is IMHO unsafe, then my conscience dictates that I should try & make others aware. That may be front brake cables that snap, hubs that fail, ...

Re: Frame modification necessary for S3 when using 60/110 crank and RT225?

Should I? Given your advice, here's some for you: You should question the Manufacturer of products you have an issue with & if need be, complain to them, rather than request advice from A N Other without them being able to suggest a solution. My interpretation of Forums such as this, is that it...

Late to the party here but have these all been Serveta frames or Italian? I've built a few RT kits with 60/110 cranks and haven't run in to that. The cylinder tin was close to the frame loop but none have touched.

Yes.
